Day 1 - Mexico
Transfer in from Airport to Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel
(Mexico City. Metropolis, capital of the United States of Mexico, located 2240m above sea level and with around 20 million inhabitants, Conquest by the Spaniards in 1521 and built upon the ruins of the former Aztec city Mexico - Tenochtitlán. The different cultures have left their testimonies cover a period of almost 3 millenniums and converted the city into a melting pot of modern Mexico. The pyramids of nearby Teotihuacan, the Historic City Centre, and the Museum of Anthropology are a "must" when visiting Mexico City. The City is indeed an important cultural centre with more than 50 museums and art galleries, theatres, folklore, concerts and shopping destination for leather goods such as shoes, textiles, outer garments and jeans, silver, ceramics and artwork. Last but not least Mexico City offers a wide variety of excellent restaurants of French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swiss, Latin-American and among others of course fine Mexican cooking.)

Day 2 – Mexico
Visit Basilica de Guadalupe + Teotihuacan site.
Drive for the visit of the "Basilica de Guadalupe". This modern basilica was built in order to replace the Spanish construction of the 17th century, if it's true it still exists, it damages more every day and it hopelessly sinks in the swampy ground. The devotion to the "Dark Virgin of Guadalupe", is so big that even the Mexicans call themselves "guadalupanos" before Catholics. This devotion is daily show, with long walks in their knees till the basilica entrance. The atmosphere in this place is unique, full of fervor and prayers.
Departure to Teotihuacan. Visit of the archaeological site of Teotihuacan, which was the most populated and dynamic city of the central valley. The Quetzalcoatl temple, as long as the two impressive pyramids of the Sun and the Moon are immutable witnesses of its glorious past. In the top of the pyramids you can get a super view that embraces all the plain. On your way back to Mexico City you will taste "Pulque" an ancient drink and you will visit an obsidian workshop.

Day 3 – Mexico – San Cristobal
Pick up at am. Transfer out from Hotel to Airport + Reception in Airport of Tuxtla Gutierrez + Visit Sumidero Canyon + Transfer to Casa Mexicana Hotel.
Reception at the airport of Tuxtla Gutierrez and departure for the Sumidero Canyon, enjoy a boat trip in the middle of this spectacular canyon, this tour descends from its 7200 ft. elevation in San Cristobal to the Grijalva River where a small motor boat takes visitors for a beautiful ride through the Sumidero Canyon whose walls range from 100 to 1000 meters high. In this national park one often is able to see special local fauna, crocodiles, white and gray herons and monkeys. After the river trip, the tour visits the first Chiapas community settled by the Conquistadors in the early 1500s, Chiapa de Corzo, known for its natural springs and lacquered art work, continue to San Cristobal.
Note: In order to do Sumidero Canyon tour, we suggest to book flights landing at Tuxtla Gutierrez Airport maximum at 13:00 hrs. So the pax will enjoy with light day the tour. Overnight San Cristobel.
Day 4 – San Cristobal
Pick up at 08.30 am. City tour of San Cristobal de las Casas + Visit Villages (San Juan Chamula & Zinacantan)
Departure for the visit of the small village of San Juan Chamula and Zinancantan. San Juan Chamula 10 km far from San Cristobal de las Casas, this town is a step back in time and a look into the Maya of today. The town is the largest Maya township of Chiapas with a population of over 40,000 Tzotziles. These Maya speak Tzotzil one of the 31 Mayan languages. This region is known for its agriculture and ceremonial style of life which is a mix of Catholicism and Maya beliefs. In fact, the old Catholic church, St. John the Baptist, is not part of the Diocese because residents don't want priests in the church. They need freedom to perform various types of rituals. The road to the village of San Lorenzo Zinancantan, about 11 km northwest of San Cristobal, forks left off the Chamula road before descending into a valley. Zinancantán people are Tzotzil Indians and the predominantly dressed on pink and purple colors, their costume are very distinctive
Drive back to San Cristobal de las Casas
At San Cristobal de Las Casas, visit the historical center with the main park/zocalo, Cathedral, Law School and other buildings rich in colonial architecture; La Casa de las Artesanias, Casa de Cultura and the Arco del Carmen. The final portion of the tour features visits to the central market and Santo Domingo Church.Overnight San Cristobel.
Day 5 – San Cristobal
Pick up at 06.30 am. Transfer from San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque visiting Agua Azul & Misol Ha + Palenque site. Villa Mercedes Hotel.
Departure from San Cristóbal de las Casas towards the Agua Azul Waterfalls. There, you will be able to swim and take special pictures. We will continue towards Palenque, located 70 kilometers far from there, approximately one-hour drive.Transfer the archaeological zone of the city, in bloom during the Classical Period of great shine of the Mayan Civilization.
Overnight San Cristobel
Day 6 - Palenque – Tikal (Guatemala)
Pick up at. Transfer to Corozal Border visiting on the way Bonampak site.
You will be picked up at Betel Border by an STP representative for transfer to Flores, Petén. Overnight Tikal
Day 7 – Tikal
At 08.00 AM transfer to the Tikal National Park, declared “Cultural Heritage of Humankind” by UNESCO. This majestic Mayan city is considered the largest and most monumental of all of the sites discovered in the Mayan World. Visit to the most important plazas, complexes and temples, enjoying as well the tropical forest, nesting place of hundreds of exotic birds and the habitat of a wide variety of wildlife. Day 8 – Tikal - Antigua
At 06.00 AM transfer to Mundo Maya Airport to board the flight to Guatemala, on your arrival to the International Airport of Guatemala City, you will be met with an STP representative for transfer to Sololá for a visit. Then, transfer to Lake Atitlán. Overnight Lake Atitlan.
Day 9 – Antigua - Chichicastenango
At time agreed with your guide, today departure to Chichicastenango where today is market day! You will see the most colorful and picturesque outdoor market in Guatemala, where every Thursday and Sunday locals from the region, gather to buy and sell fruits, vegetables, flowers, grains, animals, textiles and handicrafts. Relevant is the visit to the Santo Tomás Church, where the Maya-Quiché prays to their gods according to the old Maya traditions.
Also visit Pascual Abaj, which in an ancient carved stone venerated nearby and the Maya priests perform several rituals there. In the afternoon, transfer back to Lake Atitlán. Overnight chichicastenango
Day 10 – Atitlan Lake
At 09.00 AM board the private boat to visit the Maya-Tzutuhil village of Santiago Atitlán, famous for Maximón, a character that is widely worshiped by the inhabitants of Santiago. The place also offers a variety of handicrafts, colorful textiles, woodcarvings and naïf paintings. Then, visit San Antonio where the people grow onions and anise, as well as manufacture products made from the fibers of the maguey agave and tul carpets. Men wear a red striped shirt and a kind of brown plaid skirt. Women wear a red and white stripped huipil and a navy blue corte (skirt). In the afternoon, transfer to Antigua Guatemala. Overnight Atitlan Lake.
Day 11 – Antigua
Today, enjoy a sightseeing tour. Stepping in Antigua is like stepping back in time… cobbled stone streets, sprays of bougainvillea bursting from crumbling ruins, pastel façades under terracotta roofs, parks with fountains and a dramatic setting surrounded by three volcanoes: Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. These are one of the reasons why Antigua is one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the Americas and declared by UNESCO as “Cultural Heritage of Humankind”. Overnight Antigua.
Day 12 – Antigua- Guatemala – Tel AVIV
In the morning, transfer to Guatemala City to enjoy a sightseeing tour featuring visits to the National Palace of Culture (former “National Palace”, government’s offices), Cathedral, Main Square, Civic Center, and residential zones. Then, transfer to the International Airport of Guatemala City to board your departure flight.
